Home sweet home

Well…  made it back from Nola.  Food was great, the Saints won and yes, I did manage to see the inside of the hotel gym while I was there.  Went down a few times!  Fortunately, one of my friends on the trip also had the intentions of working out while there, so I had a partner in crime.

In short, while on the trip, not only did I manage not to gain weight, I dropped a pound!  Tobafa continues!

First real test

With a group of family friends in my home city of New Orleans.  The food here is the best anywhere and we have some fantastic places lined up.  Not sure I’ll be able to stick to my goals while here, but I’m hoping at the very leasty for a few things…

  1. Eat a good amount of boil seafood, preferably blue crabs.
  2. Hit Cochon and eat everything on the menu (tonight)
  3. Go to a Saints game with my son (tomorrow)
  4. Actually use the workout clothes and shoes I brought (I’ve always heard hotel gyms are a myth… we’ll see)
  5. To come home within 3-5#s of where I left.

We’ll see.  When I arrived, I was -2# from the start.

Day 2

House of Cards is a fantastic show!  First workout flew by.  Body didn’t much care for the added jolt, but that’s par for the course I guess.  No pain, so let’s keep rolling along!

Are you?

I am.  So I started doing something about it.

The problem is… I love to hang out with family and friends, to eat, have a few drinks and enjoy basically enjoy life without worrying about my FA.  That, unfortunately, has led me to somehow gain a shiton of weight.

So for reasons that are still a bit lost on me, I’ve decided to do something about it.  The current plan is to, at the very least, get on my elliptical machine once a day.  I’ve got Netflix on cue and both House of Cards and Orange Is The New Black to watch.  One episode per night.

Not sure where this will take me, why I’ve chosen to write about it or if it will even work, but I’m tired of being a fat ass and today is Day 1.
